Divya V

Award-winning designer Divya Vijayanandakumar brings a wealth of design experience to Harrell Remodeling, Inc., having created over fifty compelling interiors in both the Bay Area and India. Born and raised in Chennai, India—the most significant cultural, economic, and educational center of South India—Divya initially pursued Computer Science, graduating with a bachelor’s degree. Upon relocating to Silicon Valley in
2004, Divya redirected her career and attended West Valley College to achieve her Associate of Art Degree in Interior Design.

Divya has contributed her design talents to residential remodels as well as large-scale office buildings, healthcare, and educational facilities. In 2011, Divya moved back to India and worked at a high-end residential design firm before launching her own Design + Build company, Plan D, whose award-winning designs were featured in Vogue Magazine.

“Each project challenges me differently as I design to that specific client’s functional and aesthetic preferences while always striving to design a project that’s timeless.”

Divya has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and a former organization called Design Response, creating affordable spaces for those who wouldn’t otherwise be able to have a home. In 2021, Divya received a Platinum NARI (National Association of Remodeling Industry) award for a whole house remodel project.

When she isn’t working, Divya, her husband, and young sons enjoy trail hiking all around the Bay Area. A self-proclaimed “major foodie,” she loves discovering new restaurants and is well-traveled, having spent time immersing herself with the goal of “living like a local” in Italy, Thailand, New Zealand, Greece, Spain, Vietnam, Mexico, and Croatia.
